RABINDRA JAYANTI CELEBRATION

On the auspicious occasion of the 165th Rabindra Jayanti, our students and teachers paid homage to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore through a dance drama titled “Rabindranath – The Rebel of Light” on 8th May 2026.
The programme began with a prayer by our Presbyter-in-Charge, Revd. P. K. Nanda, followed by the lighting of the lamp and the offering of obeisance to Gurudev by our Respected Principal, Mrs. Jayita Biswas.
DIOCEASAN STAFF MEET 2026

Diocesan Staff Meet 2026, Interaction with Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the Diocesan Institutions, under the Diocese of Calcutta (CNI) was held on 16th May, 2026 at St. James’ School Auditorium. The theme of the meet was ‘Remember that you are chosen by God and remain faithful’.
Our Respected Principal Madam, Mrs. Jayita Biswas along with other staff members of Union Chapel School had attended the meeting.

Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony was solemnly conducted on 17th June, 2026. The newly constituted Prefectorial Body took their oath and embraced the duties entrusted to them. Revd. P.K. Nanda, Presbyter in-charge blessed the badges and encouraged the Prefects to take up their responsibilities sincerely. Our Respected Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Jayita Biswas, congratulated the Prefects and urged them to serve the institution with love, care and dedication.

Union Chapel School celebrated its Senior Annual Prize Day with great pride and fervour, recognising the outstanding achievements of its students in academics on 20th June, 2026. The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, The Most Revd. Moderator Dr. Paritosh Canning, whose presence added dignity and inspiration to the event.
The programme showcased the remarkable accomplishments of the students and highlighted the school’s commitment to excellence and holistic development. Awards were presented to deserving students in recognition of their hard work, perseverance, and dedication.
In his inspiring address, our Moderator Sir, congratulated the prize winners and encouraged all students to pursue their goals with integrity, determination, and faith.
Receiving the prize for academic excellence was a moment of immense joy and pride for the students of Classes VI to VIII. Students of Classes IX to XII felt rewarded for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout the year. The recognition inspired them to strive for even greater achievements in the future.
YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

The Inter-House Extempore Competition in English, Bengali and Hindi was held on 29th June, 2026. It was conducted with great enthusiasm, providing students with an excellent platform to showcase their oratory skills and quick thinking. Participants confidently expressed their views on a wide range of thought-provoking topics, demonstrating clarity of thought, spontaneity, and effective communication. Their confidence, creativity, and presence of mind impressed the judges. The competition not only nurtured public speaking skills but also encouraged critical thinking and self-expression.

ENGLISH & MATHS OLYMPIAD CERTIFICATE (JUNIOR SECTION)

We are proud to congratulate Debadrita Auddy and Aarsh Varma of Class IV for their excellent performance in the SOF International Olympiads 2026. Debadrita earned a Certificate of Merit in the International English Olympiad (IEO), while Aarsh received a Certificate of Merit in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).
INTER HOUSE ELOCUTION COMPETITION ENGLISH,HINDI,BENGALI
The junior students captivated the audience and judges with their confident and expressive performances in the Inter-House English Elocution Competition held on 29th July, 2026. Their clear pronunciation, excellent voice modulation, and meaningful expression reflected thorough preparation and enthusiasm. Each participant spoke with remarkable poise and conveyed the essence of the chosen piece with confidence.
TRAFFIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME
On 7th August 2026, a Road Safety Awareness Program was held at Union Chapel School. The program was led by Senior Sergeant Manabendra Biswas and Constable Rakesh Paul, of the Sealdah Traffic Police Guard. As part of the initiative, the students of our school actively participated in spreading awareness about road safety.
They stood on the nearby streets holding placards with important safety messages and spoke to parents and pedestrians about the importance of following traffic rules. The program was both educational and impactful, encouraging responsible behaviour on the roads.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
On the eve of our 80th Independence Day, on 14th August, 2026 our students of the Junior & Senior Section came to school dressed in their traditional attire and decorated their classrooms with wonderful art and crafts. They read our Preamble, sang the National Anthem.

On 15th August, 2026, observing 80th Independence Day, our Chairman, The Most Revd. Dr. Paritosh Canning, Moderator of the CNI, along with our Presbyter in-charge, Revd. P. K. Nanda, our Hony. Secretary, Mr. Ritesh Sarkar and our Respected Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Jayita Biswas and our staff members assembled at school and hoisted our National flag.
Milan mela, an event for kids was inaugurated by His Grace, Our Bishop.
Students came with their parents and friends and participated in various games and enjoyed lip-smacking dishes.
WORKSHOP ON CAREER COUNSELLING
TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION
On 4th September, 2025, the Junior students of Union Chapel School began with a special morning assembly with a hymn, songs and speech acknowledging the contribution of the teachers. This was followed by special class activities organised by each class, to felicitate their teachers.
Senior students of Classes X & XII, gathered in the school portico, for a short cultural program. They presented medley of songs, dances, and a Quiz show on retro films for the teachers. It was a heartfelt celebration dedicated to showing their gratitude and love for the teachers.
Then they felicitated our Respected Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Jayita Biswas and bag of goodies to all the teachers. The program ended with the cake-cutting which was followed by a delicious lunch for the teachers.

FLAIR COMPANY ACTIVITY (CLASS IV , CLASS V)

An interactive activity on Wood-Free Innovation was conducted by Flair for the students, highlighting the importance of eco-friendly and sustainable stationery products. The students enthusiastically participated in the activities and learned about the benefits of refillable and reusable mechanical pencils while enjoying fun worksheets and engaging sessions.
COOKING COMPETITION SENIOR +CERTIFICATE

Inter-House Non-Flammable Cooking Competition was organised on 24th April, 2026 in the school. Students participated enthusiastically and presented their dishes. The judges were fascinated by the performance of these young talents.
Certificates were awarded to the Senior School students for their participation and commendable performance in the Non-Flammable Cooking Competition. Their innovation, presentation skills, and enthusiastic involvement made the event a great success. Congratulations to all the participants for their excellent efforts!

ACTIVITY ON SUMMER (NURSERY, KG, TRANS-I)

On 11th May, 2026 our Pre-primary students took up some joyful activities to welcome Summer.
Children from the Nursery, K.G. and Transition brought in the cut outs of the summer flowers, vegetables and fruits and did some actions and danced to the tune of the flower song. After their performance it was interesting to watch them munch on the fresh fruits and vegetable salads. Children of classes IA & IB got packs of their favourite fruit juices and enjoyed their refreshing drinks in glasses decorated by them.
DRAWING COMPETITION CLASSES II TO V & CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION

Creativity takes shape through colours and imagination. This drawing competition aims to encourage students to express their thoughts, ideas, and talents through art.
Students from Nursery to Class V, enthusiastically participated in the Drawing Competition on 12th May, 2026 and 13th May, 2026. Their colourful drawings impressed everyone.
