A farewell programme was organised for Mr. Agni Kumar De to express gratitude for his dedicated service and valuable contributions. Everyone conveyed their best wishes and wished him good health, happiness, and success in his future endeavours.

RABINDRA JAYANTI CELEBRATION

On the auspicious occasion of the 165th Rabindra Jayanti, our students and teachers paid homage to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore through a dance drama titled “Rabindranath – The Rebel of Light” on 8th May 2026.

The programme began with a prayer by our Presbyter-in-Charge, Revd. P. K. Nanda, followed by the lighting of the lamp and the offering of obeisance to Gurudev by our Respected Principal, Mrs. Jayita Biswas.

DIOCEASAN STAFF MEET 2026

Diocesan Staff Meet 2026, Interaction with Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the Diocesan Institutions, under the Diocese of Calcutta (CNI) was held on 16th  May, 2026 at St. James’ School Auditorium. The theme of the meet was ‘Remember that you are chosen by God and remain faithful’.

Our Respected Principal Madam, Mrs. Jayita Biswas along with other staff members of Union Chapel School had attended the meeting.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony was solemnly conducted on 17th June, 2026. The newly constituted Prefectorial Body took their oath and embraced the duties entrusted to them. Revd. P.K. Nanda, Presbyter in-charge blessed the badges and encouraged the Prefects to take up their responsibilities sincerely. Our Respected Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Jayita Biswas, congratulated the Prefects and urged them to serve the institution with love, care and dedication.

ANNUAL PRIZE DAY (JUNIOR)

Union Chapel School proudly celebrated its Junior Annual Prize Day with great enthusiasm and joy on 19th June, 2026. The occasion was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Revd. Sorojit Biswas, whose inspiring presence added significance to the event. The celebration was a memorable tribute to the accomplishments of our junior students and a reflection of the school’s commitment to nurturing holistic development and lifelong learning. It was an enthralling moment to watch the youngest students from Nursery to Class I receive their prizes so confidently from Mrs. C. Lionel, Principal of Pratt Memorial School and from our Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Jayita Biswas. Students of Classes II to V happily received prizes from our Hony. Treasurer Revd. Asa Kiran Parichha and our Chief Guest, Revd. Sorojit Biswas.

ANNUAL PRIZE DAY (SENIOR)

Union Chapel School celebrated its Senior Annual Prize Day with great pride and fervour, recognising the outstanding achievements of its students in academics on 20th June, 2026. The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, The Most Revd. Moderator Dr. Paritosh Canning, whose presence added dignity and inspiration to the event.

The programme showcased the remarkable accomplishments of the students and highlighted the school’s commitment to excellence and holistic development. Awards were presented to deserving students in recognition of their hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

In his inspiring address, our Moderator Sir, congratulated the prize winners and encouraged all students to pursue their goals with integrity, determination, and faith.

Receiving the prize for academic excellence was a moment of immense joy and pride for the students of Classes VI to VIII. Students of Classes IX to XII felt rewarded for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout the year. The recognition inspired them to strive for even greater achievements in the future.

YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

The Inter-House Extempore Competition in English, Bengali and Hindi was held on 29th June, 2026.  It was conducted with great enthusiasm, providing students with an excellent platform to showcase their oratory skills and quick thinking. Participants confidently expressed their views on a wide range of thought-provoking topics, demonstrating clarity of thought, spontaneity, and effective communication. Their confidence, creativity, and presence of mind impressed the judges.  The competition not only nurtured public speaking skills but also encouraged critical thinking and self-expression.

ENGLISH & MATHS OLYMPIAD CERTIFICATE (JUNIOR SECTION)

We are proud to congratulate Debadrita Auddy and Aarsh Varma of Class IV for their excellent performance in the SOF International Olympiads 2026. Debadrita earned a Certificate of Merit in the International English Olympiad (IEO), while Aarsh received a Certificate of Merit in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).

Canteen for both Senior and Junior section was organised for the students, 3rd July, 2024 onwards during the break-time. This was done to collect funds that would be used to provide educational support to the underprivileged children. This initiative was taken up by each class gradually.

KARATE SHOTOKAN DRUHIN CHOWDHURY CLASS VA 3RD PRIZE

Master Druhin Chowdhury of Class V-A made the school proud by securing the 3rd Prize in a Karate competition organized by the Traditional Shoto-Kai Karate Association, West Bengal. The school congratulates him on his commendable achievement and wishes him continued success.

FLAIR COMPANY ACTIVITY (CLASS IV , CLASS V)

An interactive activity on Wood-Free Innovation was conducted by Flair for the students, highlighting the importance of eco-friendly and sustainable stationery products. The students enthusiastically participated in the activities and learned about the benefits of refillable and reusable mechanical pencils while enjoying fun worksheets and engaging sessions.

COOKING COMPETITION SENIOR +CERTIFICATE

Inter-House Non-Flammable Cooking Competition was organised on 24th April, 2026 in the school. Students participated enthusiastically and presented their dishes. The judges were fascinated by the performance of these young talents.

Certificates were awarded to the Senior School students for their participation and commendable performance in the Non-Flammable Cooking Competition. Their innovation, presentation skills, and enthusiastic involvement made the event a great success. Congratulations to all the participants for their excellent efforts!

COOKING COMPETITION JUNIOR +CERTIFICATE

An Inter-House Non-Flammable Cooking Contest was held in our school on the 27th April, 2026. The young cooks competed very enthusiastically and proved to be creative enough by preparing several tasty food items. They made wonderful presentations that displayed both their skills and creativity. The judges were very impressed by their performance. The students of our Junior School – Class III, IV and V received certificates for their enthusiastic participation and commendable performance in the Non-Flammable Cooking Competition. Their creativity, teamwork, and confidence added great spirit to the event. Congratulations to all the young participants for their wonderful efforts!

ACTIVITY ON SUMMER (NURSERY, KG, TRANS-I)

On 11th May, 2026 our Pre-primary students took up some joyful activities to welcome Summer.

Children from the Nursery, K.G. and Transition brought in the cut outs of the summer flowers, vegetables and fruits and did some actions and danced to the tune of the flower song. After their performance it was interesting to watch them munch on the fresh fruits and vegetable salads. Children of classes IA & IB got packs of their favourite fruit juices and enjoyed their refreshing drinks in glasses decorated by them.

DRAWING COMPETITION CLASSES II TO V & CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION

Creativity takes shape through colours and imagination. This drawing competition aims to encourage students to express their thoughts, ideas, and talents through art.

Students from Nursery to Class V, enthusiastically participated in the Drawing Competition on 12th May, 2026 and 13th May, 2026. Their colourful drawings impressed everyone.

Senior School Art Competition was organized in the school on 25th June, 2026. Students from class VI to XII enthusiastically participated in the event. They showcased their creativity through colourful drawings and imaginative themes. The competition aimed to encourage artistic expression and build confidence among young learners.
