The Revd. P.K.Nanda, Presbyter-in-charge, Union Chapel, blessed the School Captains and prefects and presented their badges. The newly appointed Prefects were not only elated but also were keen to take on the responsibilities.
75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY
ON 15TH AUGUST 2022, WE CELEBRATED OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH A LOT OF ENTHUSIASM. THE REVD. P.K. NANDA, PRESBYTER-IN-CHARGE, UNION CHAPEL, HOISTED THE NATIONAL FLAG. CHILDREN PAID HOMAGE TO OUR GREAT FREEDOM FIGHTERS THROUGH DANCES, SONGS AND A SKIT.

Teachers’ Day was celebrated on
5th September, 2022. This is a day which is eagerly awaited by both the teachers and students. The students had organized a cultural programme to show their respect and love for their teachers.

Career Counselling programmes were organised by Pathfinder and IIHM in the month of September 2022.

Tanusree Ghosh of Class VIII of Emerald House was declared winner. Arkaprabha Bhattacharjee of Class IX was the 1st runners up from Emerald House. Surprisingly, Rishab Shaw of Class VI of Ruby House secured the 2nd runners up position defeating Suraj Pandey of Class XI.
KIDS FOR TIGERS
AN AWARENESS CAMP ‘KIDS FOR TIGERS’ WAS ORGANISED AT LORETO DAY SCHOOL ON 15th OCTOBER 2022. IT WAS BASED ON CONSERVATION OF FORESTS AND WILDLIFE.
IIHM COOKING COMPETITION
A cooking competition was organised by IIHM both for students and teachers.
Lip-smacking dishes were cooked and were nicely presented before the judges on
28th October 2022.
55th FOUNDER’S DAY Celebration
FOUNDER’S DAY 55th year of Founder’s Day of Union Chapel School was celebrated on 5th November 2022. The Rt. Revd. Dr. Paritosh Canning, Bishop of Calcutta had graced the occasion.

An Art and Crafts exhibition was held in the Junior Section.
UNIANA
Our Grace Bishop had conducted the Church service and released ‘UNIANA’, our School Magazine.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
The day was observed at St. John’s Church. Obeisance was paid to the martyrs of the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Second World War.
HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY
On 14th November 2022, Children’s Day was organised in a different way. A cultural programme was put up by the ex-students. Milan Mela was organised for the children where they could taste delicious food and try their luck in ‘Treasure Island’ and in other games.
INTER HOUSE ELOCUTION FOR JUNIOR SECTION
It was organised on 16th, 17th and 18th November 2022. The Judges were not only enthralled but also were highly impressed by the recital of the students.

Our teachers had put up an amazing performance, which was highly appreciated by the all those who attended the service.
DEM FETE
DEM FETE was held at
St. Paul’s Cathedral Grounds on
3rd December, 2022. A spread of delicious lip-smacking food attracted a throng of visitors to our stall. Junk jewellery and crafts made by the students in their SUPW classes were put up for sale, which was in high demand among the visitors.
CAMPAIGN FOR VACCINATION
An Awareness campaign on Measles Rubella vaccination was organised in our school by Kolkata Municipal Corporation on 5th December, 2022. Parents of our Junior section children attended the programme.

STAFF PICNIC
On 21st January 2023, staff picnic was organised at Badu, near Madhyamgram.
The picnic was an enjoyable event for all of us, far away from the daily humdrum of life. All the staff members had a gala time enjoying interesting games and delicious food.
MEASLES RUBELLA VACCINATION
A comprehensive Measles Rubella Vaccination drive for the children in the age group of 6 years to 15 years was taken up by the Government of West Bengal. Students from Nursery to Class IX were given this vaccine in the school premises by the health personnel from Kolkata Municipal Corporation from 1st to 3rd February, 2023.

SHER for Kids organised a video show for the students of Classes VI & VII on 6th February 2022. This was a part of creating awareness on conservation of Tigers. The video was about how tigers play an important role in maintaining the entire ecological system.
VISIT BY MR. PETER MONTGOMERY
Our school was privileged to welcome,
Mr. Peter Montgomery and his family, on 7th February 2023. He is the son of
Revd. Robert W. Montgomery and
Mrs. Helen G. C. Montgomery who in the 1960s, administered Union Chapel. They were instrumental in initiating Union Chapel School. Mr. Peter Montgomery was overwhelmed and emotional in seeing the school. A special School Assembly was held in their honour. It started with a prayer by The Revd. P.K. Nanda,

Young Chef India
IIHM had conducted the ‘Young Chef India Regional Semi Final Cooking Competition’ on 9th May, 2023 at IIHM campus. Four semi-finalists had participated in the event showcasing their culinary skills.
